(Austin.CityRegions.Com, January 18, 2016 ) Austin, TX -- Wooden toys are becoming more popular, even while electronic toys for young children proliferate, but who is making these wooden toys and where does the wood come from? C1C2 Educational Toys, a family-run toy company specializing in wooden educational toys, said it had to look pretty hard to find well-sourced toys that fit what they wanted to sell. "We wanted to find handmade educational toys made from sustainably-sourced wood," says Liz Seivert, co-founder and Customer Service Manager. "These are the kinds of items we look for as parents providing high-quality toys for our child. We don't want something machined, or that has a negative impact on the environment."
The company they found is a small toy manufacturer in the Czech Republic, specializing in traditional wooden toys. The company was also a small family-run business that makes their toys by hand, mirroring the lifestyle and ethos of the Texas-run toy company. "The toys have a good quality feel to them, and they are eco-friendly," says Seivert. "We are betting that other parents will find these features as appealing as we do!" While C1C2 Educational Toys is not alone in promoting that wooden toys are better than plastic, they claim their European, eco-friendly source makes them unique. "While we could have found cheaper wooden toys to sell, we choose quality over costing and feel that in the long run this is what will make our products more valuable to others. You not only want the best for your child, but for the world you are raising them in!"
