(Austin.CityRegions.Com, November 04, 2015 ) Austin, Texas -- UberCurl, a beauty products brand which caters to girls and women with curly hair, announced the release of what founder Mildred Bresett calls, "A tool every curly-haired girl needs in her arsenal."
The UberCurl microfiber towel is intended to be a replacement for the cotton towels commonly used to dry hair. The smoother surface of microfiber is gentler on hair as Mildred explains, "Hair has an outer layer called the ‘cuticle' which are tiny scales that overlap and act as a protective shield to the inner parts of each hair strand. Ideally they lie flat and make the hair surface smooth and shiny, however when drying hair with a regular, harsh-fibered towel, it can disturb these cuticles causing them to stick out and interlock with each other."
There is no doubt that the curly hair market is looking for solutions if the influx of anti-frizz hair care products on drugstore shelves is any indication. But what was the inspiration for releasing a towel meant specifically for curly hair? According to Mildred, for curly heads, "Using a gentler towel goes a long way in reducing tangles, snarls and rough dry ends that leave hair dull and frizzy and I should know because I have curly hair myself."
Early consumer reviews report that the waffle-weave towel also speeds drying time, One consumer said, "I really love how quickly this towel dries my hair. This towel is great for the mornings I don't have a lot of time to use a diffuser."
Since heat is known to cause stress and damage to hair of all types, this may be another benefit. "Yes, we definitely want to encourage a heat free method of hair drying and restore natural curls to health," confirmed Mildred.
The UberCurl microfiber hair towel is in stock now at Amazon.com.
